ECSAT Training Topics

ECSAT offer the following trainings:

- Life Skills Training for children with intellectual disability and their parents - 3 days. (barriers to inclusion, overcoming barriers, forming parent support groups, and activities for children to :stimulate and encourage inclusion; develop personal life skills; promote participation; promote social skills, and; to develop confidence and self-esteem)

- Community Mobilisation (inclusive of all marginalised groups)

- Needs Assessment (general model, tools and practices)

The following trainings are currently in development:

- Setting Up and Running an after school Kids Club (how to set up a kid's club and day care centre, participatory approaches, inclusion, models of disability, clubs, day care, topics, creative activities for music)

- Approaches to Inclusive Education

- Approaches to differentiating teaching and learning to enable disabled children to access the curriculum

- Games to promote cooperation, inclusion, spacial awareness and group activities.

- Behaviour management and exclusion policies - how to set them up and implement them.
