Volunteers

ECSAT has a long term volunteer partnership with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) Sri Lanka.

Valerie Apted (VSO) is the latest volunteer to join us and is working in the much-needed area of fundraising for three months. Her enthusiasm and drive are inspiring us all to work harder in this area.

Gina Graham is working hard at ECSAT to upgrade our special education programme and also to make all activities more creative and dynamic! She is an asset to the organisation and is also one of our UK Trustees.

Charlotte Routh came to help us for a very short but very successful period. She helped by teaching English and adding fun and creativity to tone of our Kids Clubs, and was much loved by children and staff alike.

Ruth Campbell has done an excellent job in putting together out 2007-2008 Annual Report so that it really highlights ECSATs achievements, and on cutting down the website text - better not write too much here!

Narelle Minton (VSO) worked for one year to build the capacity of staff to develop and manage projects, and the capacity of people with disabilities and their families so that they could advocate for their rights.

Tom Widd is providing ongoing support on designing and maintaining this very website. His input is vital in keeping us on the web!

Chris Commons helped us with our organisational development and returns to help us for a few weeks every year, while spearheading the Friends of ECSAT group when he is in the UK.

Louise Platt has provided inspiration on diverse issues including handicraft design and membership drives. She supports our awareness raising and fundraising and is currently helping to market our handicrafts.

Other volunteers we would like to thank for their contributions are Ruth Campbell, Ruvi Wijesuriya, Norbert Haeberlin, Koenraad Denayer, Sarah Leigh (VSO), Janice Cox (VSO), Nandita Jacob (VSO), Christel and Klarra Ibarra.

If you think you have the skills and enthusiasm to volunteer with ECSAT, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
